Spring time

I was busy  lately with the spring cleaning. Nowhere near done, but getting there 🙂 So my knitting went small, as not much time to spare – but I’m still out there 🙂 Well, here…

I’ve been looking into small projects – and founding some really cute patterns to do. All started with a little flower bag, pattern by Nina (http://sites.google.com/site/deepseaflowerdicebag/), and somehow it wanted to be done in that funky yellow Breeze yarn, courtesy of march swap 🙂

After that, I’ve decided it’s spring time – flowers theme started – and a small flower bracelet to follow (http://www.petitepurls.com/Summer10/summer2010_t_knittedjewlery.html). I digressed a bit by doing a skirt for a dolly, although it ended up looking to wintery so it’s not in my favs list.

After that, a little bag – pattern by Inthepink – and I’m really pleased with that one 🙂 Think there will be some variations in colour soon…

Ok, pics to follow tomorrow once my phone has battery again

Knitting from stash and for a good cause

My friend is – for the third year running – part of a good cause and this year it’s Ecuador, please take a look on http://www.charitygiving.co.uk/allum if you want to know more. It’s perfect excuse for me to do some knitting and I’m trying to make some hats for a stand or a raffle (not sure what it will be). As it is spring, I’ve switched to cotton this week, to have some hats that will fit the season – I do hope some will manage to leave the house as my little one pinched first one immediately. As I don’t want to upset anyone with the fact that hats might be sold in some way, I’ve been trying out a simple pattern – as the name of the blog says, it’s pretty much exchange of knit and purl rows 😀

Cotton beanie

* note : this is a simple pattern made up as I went along, I’ll be testing it along the way *
– suggested yarn : DK cotton, such as Calico by Sirdar (DK / 8 ply, 60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic)
– using 4.5mm needles
– sizes available baby/toddler/child. Note that child should fit about 3y old to adult size small. I’m still defining the baby and toddler one (currently on my needles).
– pattern:
CO ??/70/80 (about ??/90cm/1m tail)
knit 1 round
purl 1 round repeat 3 times
knit 3 rounds
